THE KINKS

The Kinks, uno dei più grandi gruppi rock britannici di sempre, continuano le celebrazioni per il 60° anniversario della loro illustre carriera musicale, con la seconda parte dell’antologia “The Journey”, uscito il 17 novembre, per BMG.

Dopo l’uscita di The Journey – Part 1 a marzo di quest’anno (che conteneva successi come “You Really Got Me”, “Waterloo Sunset”, “All Day And All Of The Night”, “Supersonic Rocket Ship” e “Dead End Street”, The Journey – Part 2, anche questa compilata dalla band, sarà disponibile nei formati 2CD, 2LP, digitale e digitale HD.

I formati fisici contengono un libretto con foto della band e note track-by-track scritte dai membri originali Ray Davies, Dave Davies e Mick Avory, in cui gli artisti condividono i loro ricordi e li intrecciano con l’incredibile storia dei Kinks.

The Journey – Part 2 raccoglie singoli, B-sides, brani dagli album e, in particolare, sei nuovi mix di Ray Davies, tre dei quali sono inedite performance dal vivo registrate al New Victoria Theatre di Londra nel 1975.

Ray Davies: “Pensavo di sapere tutto sulle mie canzoni, finché non mi è stata data l’opportunità di mettere insieme questo disco. La nuova tracklist ci ha permesso di mostrare un ‘quadro generale’ e di fornire una storia più approfondita su come si è evoluta la nostra musica. Ho imparato molto su me stesso nel mettere insieme questo disco.”

Dave Davies: “Un’altra occasione per ascoltare alcuni dei miei brani preferiti dei Kinks nel corso degli anni. Un perfetto esempio della nostra eredità musicale varia e creativa..”

Mick Avory: “Un’ottima selezione di canzoni dei Kinks attraverso gli anni, che riserverà piacevoli sorprese all’ascoltatore.”

Le canzoni contenute in The Journey – Parts 1 & 2, sono state selezionate per la prima volta personalmente da Ray, Dave e Mick, secondo temi ispirati dalle loro esperienze e vicissitudini vissute nel loro viaggio di vita comune come band dal 1963. I brani contenuti nelle raccolte sono tratti dai classici album originali dei Kinks, tra cui: Face To Face, The Kink Kontroversy, Something Else, The Village Green Preservation Society, Lola Versus Powerman and The Moneygoround, Muswell Hillbillies, Everybody’s In Show-Biz, Preservation Acts 1 & 2 e A Soap Opera.

Tutti i brani sono stati accuratamente rimasterizzati da Kevin Gray presso i Cohearent Studios di Los Angeles, con la supervisione di Andrew Sandoval.
