Il 30 marzo The Kinks tornano sul mercato con la ripubblicazione in una speciale edizione digitale, appositamente masterizzata, di 7 album del periodo che va dal debutto del 1964, “Kinks” fino al culmine della loro carriera che è rappresentato da “Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround, Part 1’ (1970).

Gli album sono stati nuovamente masterizzati per iTunes e saranno disponibili in alta definizione in tutti glistore digitali grazie a BMG.

Questa serie essenziale di una delle migliori band mai esistite, è caratterizzata dalle canzoni scritte da Ray Davies e dallo stile chitarristico power pop del fratello Dave.

Ray Davies è entusiasta del risultato ottenuto dalle masterizzazioni e afferma a tale proposito “riproducono in maniera brillante il suono originale”.

La serie comprende i primi 5 album dei Kinks:

Kinks (1964) contiene ‘You Really Got Me’ and ‘Stop Your Sobbing’.

Kinda Kinks (1965) contiene ‘Tired of Waiting for You’.

The Kink Kontroversy (1965) con ‘Till the End of The Day’ e ‘Where Have All The Good Times Gone’.

Face to Face (1966) contiene ‘Dandy’ e‘Sunny Afternoon’.

Something Else (1967) uno dei migliori album dei The Kinks contenente: “David Watts’, ‘Death of A Clown’, ‘Waterloo Sunset’.

Questi album racchiudono alcune delle più belle canzoni mai scritte dal gruppo, ma c’è spazio anche per ‘Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround, Part 1’ del 1970, LP che ha consacrato Ray Davies come uno dei più grandi cantautori della sua e delle ultime generazioni. Autentiche gemme come ‘Get Back In Line’, ‘This Time Tomorrow’ e ‘Lola’ sono proprio qui dentro.

L’anno seguente (1971) Ray realizzò il film ‘Percy’, con protagonisti Hywel Bennett, Elke Sommer e Britt Ekland, la cui colonna sonora è l’ultimo album masterizzato di questa incredibile prima serie di 7 titoli.

Questi classici sono stati recentemente masterizzati per iTunes (MFiT) in HD, dai nastri originali per mano degli ingegneri del suono di fama internazionale Andrew Sandoval e Tim Young, presso i Metropolis Studios di Londra.

Le registrazioni sono state ottimizzate per un’esperienza perfetta di ascolto su formato digitale, sia per il download che per lo streaming.
